Towanda is a borough in Pennsylvania and the county seat of Bradford County. It is 66 miles northwest of Wilkes-Barre and is located on the Susquehanna River. The town was named after the Algonquian word ‘Towanda,’ which means ‘burial ground’. Its population is approximately 2,833 according to the 2020 Census.
